Summertime is here. And just because you’re most likely working from home doesn’t mean you have loads of time to make meals. Because you want to start the day off right, finding easy breakfast meals will help reduce stress in your day. But because you still want to choose foods that will nourish your body, Hospitality Health ER has three fast, healthy breakfast ideas to keep you fit and moving.

What are Some Quick, Healthy Breakfast Ideas?

#1 Protein-and-Potassium-Filled PBB (Peanut Butter Banana) Tortillas

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons peanut butter, or preferred nut/sunflower butter
  • One whole grain flour tortilla
  • One medium banana

Spread the peanut butter on the tortilla without going all the way to the edge. Place the whole banana on top of the peanut butter. Roll the banana up completely in the tortilla. Cut the roll into small rounds to make 6 to 8 pieces. Peanut butter is full of protein and bananas are packed with fiber and potassium.

#2 Antioxidant Probiotic Yogurt – Your Way

Ingredients:

  • 7 oz. container plain yogurt (we recommend Greek yogurt)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Your favorite fruits and nuts

Mix honey into the yogurt and top it with your favorite fruits and nuts. This is a quick way to get a good dose of probiotics to build healthy gut bacteria. When you go grocery shopping, choose plain yogurt to eliminate the excess sugar so often found in flavored yogurts. Berries contain antioxidants and yogurt contains probiotics, so they are some of the best immune-building foods!

#3 Nutrition Please, Cottage Cheese

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of low-fat cottage cheese
  • Sliced peaches

Mix sliced peaches and a cup of cottage cheese together, and enjoy a yummy balance of sweet and savory on your palate. Cottage cheese is high in many nutrients, including protein, B vitamins, and minerals like calcium, selenium, and phosphorus.  Peaches help you to reach your required daily serving of fruit and also have many health benefits.
