Father’s Day 2019: 7 Characteristics of the Modern Day Dad

father's day 2019

At Hospitality Health ER, we see parents doing everything they can to make their children feel better. While moms often get much of the credit for taking care of the kids, we see just as many dads getting involved and nursing their kids back to health. In fact, research shows that dads are playing a much bigger role in parenting today. Thanks, dads! So in honor of Father’s Day 2019, let’s take a look at how dads are continuing to step up to the plate in the never-ending world of parenting and homemaking.

Happy Father’s Day 2019: Did You Know That…

#1 …this generation of dads are spending three times as much time with their kids than past generations! This is opening up how children see the world and themselves.

#2 …today’s dads are spending thirty minutes more on household chores than their dads did! They pitch in with dishes, laundry, bathing kids, and even diaper changing. As daughters see their dads pitching in with these types of chores, it teaches them that women are no less than men.

#3 …the number of stay-at-home dads has grown over the past few decades, which means they will naturally be more involved with their kids than previous generations!

#4 …more than half of dads in the U.S. are responsible for doing the grocery shopping! Many of them are also involved in selecting baby clothes and daycare.

#5 …thirty percent of working dads prefer to spend more time with their children!

#6 …more than half of dads today consider parenting a major part of their identity!  They are also willing to spend more time bonding with their babies.
