You will receive an Estimate of Benefits (EOB) within 60 days. The amount reflected on EOBS are often inaccurate, please don’t be alarmed by an EOB. Insurance companies complete claims at different times, therefore the expected receipt of a bill is unique to each patient. It’s common for our billing to take longer than other comparable medical facilities.

How Long Before I Receive A Bill?
The amount of time it takes for you to receive a bill from the Emergency Room (ER) can vary depending on several factors. In some cases, you may receive a bill within a few weeks of your ER visit, while in other cases it may take several months.
The timing of your bill may depend on factors such as the billing cycle of the hospital or healthcare provider, the complexity of your case, and the amount of time it takes for your insurance company to process the claim.
We ensure your insurance fulfills their requirements according to the benefit plan. We do not expect the patient to handle this themselves. It isn’t unusual for it to take longer than expected to receive the final bill due to the lengthy claims negotiation process.
How Can I Talk To The Billing Company?
We welcome you speaking with our in-house billing company regarding your medical bill! The following are two effective ways to do so:
- Call the billing company: The phone number for the billing company should be listed on your medical bill. You can call the number and speak to a representative to discuss your bill.
- Use the online portal: Many billing companies have an online portal where you can access your billing information and communicate with the billing department. Check your medical bill or the billing company’s website to see if this option is available.
When communicating with the billing company, it is important to have your medical bill and insurance information on hand, as well as any other relevant documents or correspondence. Be prepared to explain your situation and ask questions to ensure you understand your bill and payment options.
How Do I Pay My Bill?
There are several ways to pay a medical bill, depending on the payment options offered by the healthcare provider or billing company. Here are some common payment methods:
- Online payment: Our billing company offers online payment options through their website. To pay online, you will need to provide your billing information and payment details, such as your credit card or bank account information. - Phone payment: You can also pay your medical bill over the phone by calling the billing company or healthcare provider’s billing department. Be sure to have your billing information and payment details ready when you call.

If you are unable to pay your bill in full, you are able to set up a payment plan with our billing company.
How Many Bills Will I Get?
Medical bills from our healthcare facility and a healthcare provider (such as a physician or specialist) may appear separately, as you may have received services from both. Here’s an overview of what to expect from each:
- Medical bills from the HHER facility: A facility bill generally includes charges for the use of the facility, such as the emergency room, operating room, or hospital room charges. Facility charges may also include charges for equipment, supplies, medications, and laboratory tests. The facility bill may be separate from the physician’s bill, even if you saw the physician in the facility.
- Medical bills from a provider: A provider bill typically includes charges for the services provided by the physician or specialist, such as consultations, evaluations, and procedures. These bills may include charges for both inpatient and outpatient care. The provider bill may be separate from the facility bill, even if you received treatment in the facility.
Both facility and provider bills may include charges for services that your insurance plan does not cover, such as deductibles, co-payments, and co-insurance.
Because we handle our own billing company and are family owned, you do not have to deal with the frustrations of a confusing billing process. And while most medical facilities utilize an external billing facility that has no authorization to make decisions that will help patients, HHER reserves the right to take action on payment terms, insurance contracts, and other inquiries you may have. We process all commercial insurance, but not medicare, medicaid, or tricare.
