If you happened to visit Hospitality Health ER (HHER) in Tyler anytime in the month of October, you were welcomed into a sea of pink: pink gloves, pink decorations, and a hallway filled with pink ribbons. We wanted you to notice how much the health of our community matters to us. And with everything pink, you probably got the picture pretty quickly!
In support of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, a program that raises money for breast cancer education, research, advocacy, and health services, we invited patients to dedicate a ribbon to someone whose life was impacted by cancer; and Hospitality Health ER would donate $5 for every ribbon placed on our Wall of Honor. In just under four weeks, our hallway was dressed in 112 pink ribbons.
Can we say, “Pink power!”?
During the check presentation on Tuesday, November 1st, 2016, a sense of pride filled our Tyler ER as Director of Nursing, Michael Harrington, Dr. Jeffrey Beers, and co-founders, Jeanne Shipp and Jeb Shipp met with the foundation.
“We are happy to double the initial funds raised and present the Susan G. Komen Foundation with a check for $1120. We are grateful to Susan G. Komen for the partnership that allows HHER to continue championing health awareness in our community,” Jeanne Shipp stated.
Also in attendance at the check presentation were Tyler ER’s Marketing Liaison, Mary Margaret Nelson, Registrar, Veronica Parrott and Customer Service Coordinator, Justin McCravey. From front office to back office to founders, the entire HHER staff is committed to advocating for health initiatives in our community.
