It’s September and fall is here! As you’re reading this, you’re probably thinking to yourself how fast 2022 has flown by. And we’re right there with you. The Autumn Equinox is fast upon us, and to make the most of the season, we’ve compiled a fun list of activities you can do in and around Tyler and Longview.
LFBC Car, Boat, Motorcycle Show
Who: Family-friendly
What: Car, boat, and motorcycle show hosted by Lake Fork Baptist Church Student Ministry. There will be awards, prizes, concessions, a motorcycle raffle, and more.

Wildfood Walk at Tyler State Park
Who: Family-friendly
What: Some of those pretty wildflowers and stately trees are more than just pleasing to the eye. They can be quite tasty, handy, or even lifesaving. Learn to identify some of the edible and useful plants of the East Texas Pineywoods. Dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, bring water, and be ready for a moderate mile walk through the forest.

Symphony in the Park
Who: Family-friendly
What: Bring the family to Bergfeld Park on Saturday, September 3, 2022, for the Second Annual Symphony in the Park. This FREE concert features Richard Lee and the East Texas Symphony Orchestra performing show tunes, popular classical, patriotic celebratory music, and much more. It’s an event for all ages to enjoy. Bring your blanket or chair and come early to get the best seats for this family-friendly event. Symphony in the Park is presented in partnership with The City of Tyler.

80’s Night – Family Fall Festival

What: Family friendly 80s-themed arcade and festival. We will have over 20 arcade-style games plus other activities such as bounce houses, face painting, balloon animals, 80s dance floor, and more!

Caring Crafts Group at The Children’s Park

What: Caring Crafts Group meets monthly to make crafts for events throughout the year, particularly angels for the Day of Remembrance.

Party Like Gatsby ’22: For Longview Food Pantry
Who: Family-friendly
What: Come party like it’s 1922 with a cause! The Longview Food Pantry will be having their Roarin’ 20s Party this year again—but with a twist. This year they are taking monetary donations to benefit the Longview Food Pantry to help those in the Longview community. Their goal is to raise $500.

Tyler Gold Run 5K

What: September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and the Tyler Gold Run 5K is a family event where you can run or walk for a great cause: to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer awareness. All proceeds will benefit local childhood cancer families or go toward research.

Lanes Chapel UMC Pumpkin Patch

When: Saturday, September 24, 2022 – Monday, October 31, 2022. Open Monday – Friday from 10 am until dusk; Saturdays from 9 am until dusk; and Sundays from noon until dusk.
