Dr. Scott Bier

Medical Director – Galveston

Dr. Scott Bier was born and raised in northern New Jersey.  He obtained his undergraduate degree in Clinical Psychology from Tufts University and medical degree from Drexel University on a military scholarship.  In 2004, Dr. Bier moved to TX for his residency in emergency medicine at Darnall Army Medical Center on Fort Hood.  Following residency, he spent three years on active duty with the US Army as a flight surgeon for the 4th Combat Aviation Brigade after which he transitioned to the National Guard and civilian practice.  After serving as the vice chair of emergency medicine for eight years at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands, Dr. Bier became the facility medical director for Hospitality Health ER in Galveston where he continues presently in that capacity.  Dr. Bier is a four time combat veteran and currently serves as the State Surgeon for the Texas Army National Guard.  He’s an avid runner, sports fan, and disc golfer.  He is married to his wife of 22 years and has two children.
