It’s that joyous time of year again, when our community gathers together for holiday trots, parades, and activities. In true Hospitality Health ER holiday fashion, we’ve compiled a list of 2018 holiday events in Tyler and Longview to enjoy with your friends and family. If you need a change of scenery this holiday season, you can also take a weekend road trip to enjoy all the holiday festivities in Galveston. From Schlitterbahn’s indoor water park to Dickens on the Strand, there’s plenty to do on the island that gets you out of town and into the holiday spirit. While you’re there, come check out our new HHER location at 4222 Seawall Blvd. But if you’re planning to stick around this holiday season, there are plenty of local festivities to choose from.

16th Annual Tyler Turkey Trot

Ready to burn some calories before Thanksgiving dinner? The 16th Annual Tyler Turkey Trot is happening once again on Thanksgiving morning. This honored tradition includes a kid’s dash at 8:30am and a 5K Walk/Run at 9am.

Up in Lights features over a million lights choreographed to your favorite Christmas carols. This drive-through Christmas light park is a great option for those who want to get out of the house but don’t want to bear the cold.

- Christmas Carols in the Park with local choirs: November 29th & 30th

- An Enchanted Evening with Santa: December 21st

Downtown Tyler
This year’s parade theme is “Be the Inspiration.” For those planning on participating in this year’s parade, there will be six winners selected for Best Holiday Theme, Best Band, Brightest Entry, Spirit Award, Most Creative, and Best Decorated Vehicle. The parade route travels south on Broadway before turning right onto Ferguson Street, left on Bois d’Arc Avenue, left on Erwin Street, left on Spring Avenue, (new this year) left on Line Street and right on Broadway, back to the starting point. The parade is immediately followed by the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the T.B. Butler Fountain Plaza.

This parade needs no big introduction. The Longview AMBUCS Christmas Parade is always held the first Thursday of December and has become a holiday tradition for many Longview families. Hospitality Health ER is proud to be a part of it every year. We’ll see you there!
